CABA Retreat Cancellation
A word from from the CABA Retreat Committee
Dear Sister in Christ,
Here we are in 2020, the year that nobody could have imagined, and, like so many other groups, we have been faced with some hard decisions. Our retreat plans had been rolling right along, with an interesting speaker all lined up, and some interesting, fun projects to enrich our fellowship. Then Covid-19 raised its nasty head, and things came to a screeching halt.
Our retreat planning committee met for one final meeting in June, socially distanced and masked, to decide what we should do. The health and well-being of our sisters-in-Christ must be paramount, and it is with sad hearts that we have decided that there will be no Retreat in 2020. With the help of God, and all of the scientists and medical folks He has put here to help us, we pray that we will be able to safely join together again for Fall Retreat 2021, with a speaker whose message is well worth waiting for. (No spoilers!)
In an attempt to sustain our fellowship with one another while we are apart, the committee members thought we might encourage any of you who knit, crochet, weave to make Prayer Shawls that we can dedicate when we are able to be together.
The letter continues to explain more about what a Prayer Shawl is and why this ministry is important. You can read their entire letter here.
For some books with both knit and crochet Prayer Shawl designs, you can use this link which will benefit National American Baptist Women’s Ministries through the Amazon Smile link here.
You can also check out the Prayer Shawl ministry website.
We pray that all reading this stay safe, stay well, and we hope to see everyone in 2021.
