Convention … Fall 2018

Greetings Sisters,

Your convention committee has met multiple times since our last convention, to prepare for our 2019 upcoming event “UPHELD BY GOD.” There are so many exciting new ideas coming to the forefront that it’s hard to contain the excitement. But, contain we must, until we have the big reveal in January. Please share if you have an idea, which are still gratefully accepted, if not for this year, for next.

Please download the Save the Date Flyer and share so everyone gets convention on their calendar!

This year we look to keep the best of traditions and bring in some new ideas as we move into a new year, guided by the Lord to create a better intergenerational experience. We will be meeting one more time this year on November 17th to put on the finishing touches to our lineup and plan to have all packages printed, uploaded and delivered by January 1, 2019. Save the date posters are available through the “save the date” poster link or if you need a paper copy, email or contact Laura Palada, our secretary.

While I’m not quite ready to spill the beans on all of our exciting events, I can tell you that it will be a great time. Our hotel accommodations and convention facilities at the Syracuse Doubletree by Hilton are gorgeous, and we have worked out a wonderful menu, including the return of the sundae bar. If you have a moment, check out their link.

We are very excited about our guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Suzanne Kershaw, president of the Philadelphia Baptist Women’s Association. You can find out more about her at the links below. She will be our Keynote speaker on Friday Evening, facilitating a workshop on Saturday, and providing the morning message and preside over communion on Sunday.

Our local Mission Focus will be the group “In My Father’s Kitchen” that works with the homeless and so much more.

We are still working on many of the fine points, as we prepare, but everything is currently on target for our December printing deadline and delivery by January 1.

Thank you to all that contributed to making this effort come to fruition.

Respectfully Submitted,
Cindy Kamm, co-chair ABWM Convention Committee 2019
