Greetings from your Convention Committee:
Wow! What an amazing weekend! We were truly UPHELD BY GOD, and by each other, as women from across the state gathered in Syracuse, New York, for our 71st Annual AB Women/Girls of NYS Convention.
We wish to thank all those that participated as speakers, entertainers, workshop leaders and helpers, those in the forefront and so many from behind the scenes. Without these wonderful ladies and gentlemen, we could not have had the great success that we were able to achieve.
We were truly blessed by the wonderful messages, the passion that was put into each event and workshop, and the outpouring of Christian love that was expressed, further empowering our three-day event.
We also wish to thank the Double Tree by Hilton, for their excellent hospitality and service. They were always available to assist us, quickly resolving concerns as they arose.
Most importantly, thank you to all the wonderful women that joined us. It was good to see the fruits of our labors come to pass as we saw the joy and excitement in so many faces, the hundreds of hugs, and the laughter that abounded meeting friends new and old; purple feathers, notwithstanding (You had to be there!).
Being new to the convention experience, these visions; your faces, are indelibly marked forever in my personal archives and hopefully in yours as well.
Much was learned as we worked diligently to create an experience that was worship -filled, exhilarating, inter-generational, and hands on, while providing new experiences that excite and challenge us.
We are always looking for ideas, so please let us know your thoughts. If you have an idea for local entertainment, a workshop or whatever you can think of, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are going to be working tirelessly to continue work to make the registration process a streamlined online process, but we still need your help. For each church and region, we ask that you make sure your contact information is current including email addresses for your ladies if at all possible.
If you must use postal mail, please make sure we have accurate information. This is critical to making sure we get the word out, but also to save us on postage which is not as efficient as email.
We continue to have those that are receiving our registration package late or not at all. If you would like to update or verify your contact information, please contact by email to Lorraine Brownell.
While writing this, we are already hard at work, getting started on next year.
Yes, there is little downtime with all the planning that goes into this yearly event. We have begun review of the many surveys that we received and were overwhelmed by the wonderful comments, ideas and suggestions. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to them.
As we work to prepare for next year, we will use these as a guide in creating the best experience possible for our 72nd Annual Convention to be held in Rochester, NY at the RIT Inn and Conference Center, April 24th-26th 2020.
Before you know it, we will be meeting again in Rochester. Our new convention theme will hopefully be unveiled by mid-July. Be looking for your SAVE THE DATE poster before the summer heat turns to autumn breezes.
We will be emailing and posting a downloadable poster online.
Our next official update will be at the Fall Board Meeting as we explore new and exciting experiences for 2020. Thank you to all for your continued support.
God be with you ‘til we meet again,
Your Convention Committee
