Giving for Scholarship – Day 10

Can you believe we are already ten days into our Scholarship Giving Calendar?

Sometimes in the dark it is hard to praise God.  But even in the darkness of Good Friday God was praised.  In my bible (Becoming the devotional bible for women) which uses the New Century version it says the following:

It was about noon, and the whole land became dark until three o’clock in the afternoon, because the sun did not shine.  the curtain in the Temple was torn in two.  Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father I give you my life.”  After Jesus said this, he died.  When the army officer there saw what happened, he praised God, saying, “Surely this was a good man!” – Luke 23:44-57

Finding the light in the darkness can be hard.  Praising God in the darkness can be hard.  Like yesterday when we talked about the doors in the house, sometimes all the doors are closed and it feels very dark.  But God is there with us in the darkness.  God will open the door giving us a new opportunity.

Our challenge today is to “Praise God and give a contribution to the NYS Scholarship Fund.”  As Easter approaches tomorrow, let us Praise God knowing the light will come to overtake the darkness.  Share those praises with our scholarship girls as you give to the scholarship fund.

Blessings,

Rebecca
