Ministries with Women … Spring 2019
by Kathy Wilt
I hope everyone who attended the State Convention had as much fun as I did.
Those of you who did not attend really missed something special! Praise and worship with over one hundred American Baptist Women – priceless! Thanks to all those who worked so hard behind the scenes to make it a huge success!
As I impatiently wait for Spring to make an appearance in Central NY with warm temps and less moisture and also wait for healing in my eye, I’m reminded of Paul’s words in Philippians 4:11-14 as taken from “The Message.”
“Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.”
Philippians 4:11-14 (The Message)
How amazing such an attitude is! And how difficult to achieve!
This doesn’t mean we are to just lie down and wait for better times! It does mean that when we are worried, doubtful, restless, or just tired of the stresses of life, let them move us in the direction of God! We all sometimes need a gentle reminder of the presence of the One to whom we belong!
It has been a pleasure to serve in Ministries With Woman for ABW. I would like to introduce our new leader, Carol Seidel (Broome-Tioga).
She is compassionate, creative, and will provide excellent leadership! Anyone with an email address starting with oldmustangbob is going to be interesting!
It has been awesome to work with such talented folks and I’ve grown just being around you all!
Happy a safe and happy Summer, everyone!
