Mission and Service … Spring 2017
Ecclesiastes 3 tells us:
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away…..”
I thank the Lord for the past three years serving as the Coordinator of Mission and Service for ABWM NYS. It has been a wonderful opportunity to meet and share with so many women around the state.
Sometimes there is a time to rebuild and reorganize. That is what we are in the process of doing in NYS. And for that reason there will be no new Mission and Service Coordinator for me to introduce. As we restructure jobs will be combined so we can be more efficient and effective in doing the God’s work in NYS.
We do have a new Special Project for 2017-2018. Our goal is to raise $10,000 of the $16,800 needed to buy sewing machines, fabric and provide sewing training for 200 women in Rwanda. This project will be managed by the staff of the Sierra Community Church in Rwanda in partnership with International Ministries.
We can help to empower these women to become the catalyst for change and economic development in their country.
Please pray for this important project in a country that has been ravaged by civil war and ethnic cleansing, where 60% of the country lives below the poverty line.
For more information about this project you can contact the project chair, Barbara Reese.
