President… Fall 2020

Greetings to All,

Psalm 118:24 says “This is the day the Lord has made, We will rejoice and be glad in it.

As we continue to navigate our way through these perilous times of a global health pandemic, a highly contagious disease the likes which hasn’t been seen in over a century dating back to 1918.  We are facing an economic crisis, protests in our streets, and globally for Racial & Social Equality, we have had to hunker down and Quarantine in our homes; this is a time for reckoning.

2 Corinthians 13:5-7 from the Message Bible translation states:

Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith.  Don’t drift along taking everything for granted.  Give yourself regular checkups.  You need firsthand evidence, Not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you.  Test it out.  If you fail the test, do something about it.  I hope the test won’t show that we failed.  But if it comes to that, we’d rather the test showed our failures than yours.  I believe we have passed this test and that the Lord Jesus is very pleases with our perseverance.

We have been tested on all fronts, however, Jesus has kept us and we have been focused on continuing the foundation that has been laid for ABWM NYS.

We have begun to move forward in the 21st Century by implementing some updates:

  1. We have applied for a debit card incorporated with our ABWM NYS checking and savings account.
  2. We are in the process of getting our own Tax Exempt status/ 501 c (3) status.
  3. We have access to FreeTeleconference account (upgraded for a nominal fee).
  4. We have access to a Zoom Pro Account which is at this time payable monthly.

Although we had to cancel our in person 2020 State Convention, we connected by Teleconferencing with each other and that was productive.

We eventually had an entire Board meeting via Zoom on September 11, 2020, which was also very productive.

Although we had to cancel our in person  2020 Fall Board Meeting, we are connecting again through Zoom, which enables us to see one another and really feel more connected.

Through it all, God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.
