President’s Ponderings … Spring 2016

What a wonderful Convention we had this past weekend in Owego. Rev. Dr. Christine Roush really brought us much to think about and “see…” in our individual journeys.

At the recent convention, I completed my term as President. I want to take a minute to thank everyone for the support, encouragement and prayers that I have received throughout these past three years. It has been an amazing journey for me.

For the past year, Lillian Cabral has been my right hand, as President Elect. We have spent the past year together, and I know that she is going to be a great leader for us.

Lillian lives in Cato, NY, with her husband, Austin. They have 7 children and 7 grandchildren between them. She is semi – retired from working in the Cato- Meridian school district, working in payroll and human resources for 14 years, and currently works in accounts payable part time.

Lillian is a lay pastor and has served in various churches as pulpit supply and recently as interim at Hillview Community Church.

She enjoys reading and crochet in her nonexistent free time.

Please welcome Lillian as she assumes her new role as President. May God continue to bless the leadership and ministries of the American Baptist Women’s Ministries of New York State.

Your Sister in Christ,
Laura
